Blue Kirkhope (she/her) is a writer from Glasgow, Scotland with a particular interest in connecting people, nature, place, and stories. She has spent over 10 years working across various industries, including the environmental, music, and cultural sectors.

She is a regular contributor to arts, nature, and culture site Caught by the River, and will be featured in their upcoming book publication, The Natural History of Cushendall, later in 2025, on behalf of Bill Drummond. Blue also runs the Glasgow-based writing collective Just Write and has recently begun running events through Murmurations, both of which aim to bring various communities across Scotland together, through a shared love of music, writing and culture.

As a writer, her personal work focuses on nature, ecology, on what it means to be human in all of its complexities and intricacies; tackling themes of identity, belonging, hope, and reclamation. She is deeply committed to causes such as conservation, climate justice, social justice, and human rights. Throughout everything she does, she strives to amplify voices and narratives that drive positive change.

Through her commissioned work, she has a warm and collaborative approach and is compelled by person-centred stories. She enjoys weaving together the threads of lived experience, creativity, and voice with authenticity and care.
